Of all human emotions (except pleasure),
pain is the most intense. |
|
| |
So averse is the modern human to pain
that many people will choose to swallow pain killers even without any sign of a
headache. We have not so much become addicted to pleasure as obsessed in
avoiding pain.
|
|
| |
In a physical sense, pain is merely the
bodies warning system of impending overload, damage or danger. Threatened, our
bodies react in self preservation, emitting hormonal signals and neural
impulses that we interpret as "pain."
|
|
| |
Excluding pleasure, pain is when reality
within our body is most intense. Nothing is more real than pain.
|
|
| |
As real as pain seems, it still requires
the conscious connection to interpret the hormones and neural signals as pain.
Depending upon the context of the experience, a person can sometimes learn to
accept pain or even. In some extreme cases, people (often people in positions
of power) learn to love feeling pain through sexually deviate activities. |
|
| |
For most of us, pain is something to be
avoided at all cost.

Your own perspective on this emotion |
|
| |
In reading this page, you may be someone who has experienced or is currently experiencing great physical and/or mental pain (anguish). |
|
| |
The pain of anguish with ones own belief in some absolute |
|
| |
Of all the pain a person will experience in their lives, none compares to the pain experienced when one feels their trust in their beliefs betrayed. In such circumstances, our world can seem to collapse, our bodies numb. For we rely on our trust and certainty in our own beliefs in ones own God, Allah, One Spirit or Unique Collective Awareness. |
|
| |
When our faith is tested, when our beliefs are shattered, then real pain can be felt the likes is much deeper than just a cut or injury. The worst pain is pain of the mind. |

Finding answers |

The most effective prayer to ease pain is the one that is spoken alone in silence for a complete stranger.- (Frank O'Collins) |
