Of all the negative emotions a person may
feel, the one that is least discussed is the one that is most powerful. It is self
hate.
| |
Self hate is the dislike and/or disgust of ones self,
either physically, mentally or both.
| |
Unlike other emotions, self-hate is rarely described for what it is. Instead, self-hate is commonly identified by such phrases as "body image problem", "low self-esteem" and "low self worth". |
| |
Unfortunately these sanitized labels fail to transmit the
precise and fundamental nature of the problem.
| |
Without mixing words, Self-hate is the root of all evil.
Simply, no sane person (including sociopaths) can commit any terrible act
without first being disconnected from others. To be disconnected with others,
you must be disconnected with yourself. To be disconnected with yourself, you
must hate yourself.
| |
Unfortunately, the sanitized descriptions of self hate such as "body image problem"and "low-self esteem" labels
do nothing to reveal the nature and implication of self-hate. |
| |
Self hate and belief in some absolute |
| |
For many of us, the seeds of self hate are born out by our feeling of unworthiness, of meaninglessness in the grand scheme of things by ones own God, Allah, One Spirit or Unique Collective Awareness. What is our purpose? What is his grand plan? why am I here? |
| |
When others tell us we are less and we hear nothing back, we begin to believe them. The more we believe, the more we find to hate. The more we hate ourselves, the more history of injustice and maltreatment we shall experience as every experience is influenced by our state of mind of self-hate. |

Your own perspective on this emotion |
| |
In reading this page, you may be someone who has felt less at times and may even identify with such labels as "low self-esteem" or "body image problem" as relating to how you feel. |
| |
If this is the case, then you are dealing with the powerful and most dangerous negative emotion of self-hate. |

Finding answers |
| |
The most valuable thing you could be doing for the planet is showing a little love and forgiveness to yourself each day. If you hate yourself, you hate the world. But if you respect yourself, then you are the sort of person that can help change it.- (Frank O'Collins) |
