Honesty is to be in tune.
Honesty is to be in inner harmony. Honesty is to be in balance. Honesty is to
be free of any negative thoughts or fears. Honesty is to be free of all fears.
We are honest, we say.
Only to silently admit to ourselves that we lie again For to be truly honest is
to be naked to a world of lies.
We learn too young to lie. We learn too harshly the lessons of life and truth.
That is why we accept the lie of saying we are honest when deep down, we know
all too well, our innermost thoughts and motives.
For honesty carries a price.
And it is a price we dare not ask.
So we find ourselves speaking not of honesty, but of part honesty, part truth.
We find ourselves, on the edge of caverns of spirals when lies sometimes
grow like weeds to strangle our need for security.
So we find ourselves saying the word, just a word, but never really knowing what
true honesty is.
For we have just admitted that we are far from being completely honest.
We learn too young to lose our heart.
We learn from teachers, who show us ways to lose from ourselves.
For what if I was to claim honesty to myself? Could I even say that to myself, I
am completely honest?
The feelings of complete inner peace? The emotions of instinct and action,
synergetic in following my heart and head. That I am aligned?
As a day of lies taxes the stomach and churns the acids.
As another lie to protect, to survive, to win, to overcome, to hide takes its
toll on our brain, surely it affects us.
That when we are lonely, to want the embrace of affection, only to remain alone?
That when we are happy, to express our feelings? That we are frightened, a hand
is there to help?
Surely such a life, where we could be who we want to be would truly bliss.
For in such a life, of living our heart would be still, our mind clear.
For in such a life we would know who we are and what we are
For in such a life we understand the connection to all things, the love of all
things, the love of life.
For in such awareness, honesty is powerful. As the centering of our being
unfolds, we know who we are, what we are. For in such love, honesty is our
reward. As the peace within ourselves, protects us, and extends our emotions.
For in such life, honesty is enjoying the moment as the senses celebrate what it
means to be alive.
