Of all human emotions, the most
controversial and the most sought after is "pleasure".
|
|
| |
Pleasure is more than just the chemical
effects of dopamine sweeping the brain during the consumption of some drug or
food, it is also the mental bliss that is derived from the event.
|
|
| |
No matter how divine the food, if the
mind is not stimulated in parallel to the event a level of pleasure may not
even exist.
|
|
| |
Pleasure is the most controversial and
misrepresented of all human emotions as it is considered by many religious
fanatics to be evil and not for humans to experience when alive.
|
|
| |
As extreme as these comments appear,
prohibition still plays a major part of virtually every national system of laws
in the world. Arguments of medical dangers are thrown up in the case of banning
most stimulants and hallucinogenic drugs, most of which can be argued down on
the grounds of responsible moderation. However, the single biggest argument
still used today is the moral repugnance against people achieving pleasure.
|
|
| |
Puritanism is strongly on the rise, with
calls to ban drinking (again) as well as make cigarettes illegal.
|
|
| |
At the opposite end of the spectrum there
are those who argue for unfettered rights to pleasure with questionable moral
and social responsibility such as sex with minors. |
|
| |
Because of these extremes, the word
pleasure is difficult to raise in a positive light without someone claiming
some agenda. |
|
| |
Pleasure and the concept of some absolute |
|
| |
Without question it has been the belief for millennia that humans are forbidden to enjoy earthly pleasures for the sins of the ancestors by ones own God, Allah, One Spirit or Unique Collective Awareness. All religions recognize self restraint and self sacrifice as a necessary penance for being human. |
|
| |
But is this necessarily an accurate position of enlightened thinking? Is this really what our divine creator or belief deity desires us to think? Are we destined to live in hell? |
|
| |
The right to experience pleasure |
|
| |
All agendas aside, human beings have
every right to experience and enjoy the emotion of pleasure (not at the expense
of others). In future, it is hoped that enlightened societies will be those
that recognize the rights of their citizens to experience different forms of
positive pleasure.
|
|
| |
That to feel the complete and ultimate emotions of positive pleasure, as human beings we pay the ultimate respect to the universe and to life itself. |

Finding answers |
|
| |
Nothing in the universe compares to being human, in that short moment when we are so connected that we are divine, that time stops, yet we feel every cell in our body. A window of our potential if only to find balance and wisdom-(Frank O'Collins) |
