| Artificial Intelligence ("AI") is the goal of creating machines that are cognicent of their existence and are able to make intelligent, independent and rational decisions based on their environment and inputs. | ||
| As yet, no machine has exhibited a level of independent and rational intelligence capable of rivalling a well educated human being. However, a number of companies such as IBM have developed sophisticated computers capable of rivalling the skill of human beings in such tests of optimum decision making and game theory such as playing chess. | ||
