Work history.1930 - 1960 CE

In spite of a major depression and a world war that cost over 60 million lives, the period of 1940 to 1960 represents the greatest growth in living standards for average workers in human history.
Manufacturing dropped from its high in 1890 of around 20% of jobs to around 11% thanks to automation. In turn, the services industry exploded in white collar job opportunities as well as increased employment in transport orientated work thanks to motor vehicles.
